First Day at the New Job

I feel like it was the first day of school today...although that won't come until the first week in September.  But this morning we just got Caleb off for his first day at his new job.  Although his previous job was very good to him during the last year, we are on to a new and exciting opportunity ahead of us!

Caleb is now the Director of Security at a local school district about 20 miles from where we are at. He is also the head Freshman football coach.  When I step back to think about it, it is such a perfect job for him.  The main reason is that he will be able to impact the lives of the kids he works with.  I couldn't think of anybody better to do that!

So today is a day of meetings with the football coaches, the superintendent, and a board meeting later tonight.  I may go down there and help him set up his office in between and bring him lunch.  The next couple weeks will be training for the security job and doing more of the coaching aspect of his job.  Then, come Sept 6th, school will be in session!

This job really came at such a wonderful time.  He will have a school schedule for the most part (ie, Christmas' off, summers, etc....and spring break is only a couple weeks after my due date!).  God is taking care of us.  And we are trusting that He is going to continue to as we embark on this new endeavor.

So we are praying that Caleb is able to be a sponge and soak up all the info that he needs, that he will have wisdom and discernment to be able to do his job well, that he is will have eyes to see what is really going on with the kids and know how to love and help them, and that his health will continue to improve daily so he can do his job well.  All of these things we are dependent on God for.  And we know He is faithful.

On a side note, it was so fun to see my handsome husband all dressed up for work.  He has been wearing shorts and a t-shirt to work the last couple years.  This morning he looked so sharp and handsome.  We prayed together before he took off.  And as he walked away I was just so proud of who he is.

I got a good one.  :)
