Food....

Food for our tummy's...
We continued to try to add raw food into Caleb's diet today.  So this is what we came up with....Caleb asked for hearty and full of protein, so this is the best I could do for him.  Lettuce, black beans, egg, chicken, peas, corn, avocado, cucumber, and a homemade vinaigrette.  (Not necessarily low cal...) :)

And then I have a citrus mint fruit salad chilling in the refrigerator for later tonight.  It is super yummy...I got the idea from my dear friend, Melissa McDonald.  It is an amazing treat during the winter, when citrus fruit is in season.  But it is so refreshing, you can't beat it during the summer.  I used only pink grapefruit and oranges.  But you can use yellow grapefruit as well.  And I may drizzle lime juice over it next time too, I just didn't have any on hand today.  Then, you put just a tiny bit of sugar over it and minced fresh mint leaves.  This is how it turned out....

Food for thought.....
When I was working on things last night, Caleb came in and read me a quote from the book he is reading.  He is reading "The Complete Works of E.M. Bounds on Prayer."  It is amazing and says...

"You can do more than pray after you have prayed...but you cannot do more than pray until after you have prayed."

Food for the soul....
I am having my friend Cammie, who designs the most adorable signs, make a small little plaque to put on display at my work.  It is going to say, "No Gossip Zone."  I have been thinking about our speech recently, and how powerful it really is.  The saying that "Sticks and stone can break your bones, but words can never hurt me" is the an absolutely lie.  That being said, these are some verses I am trying to hide in my heart, and make a part of my own speech...

James 1:26 "If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless."

1 Peter 4:11 "If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ."

Colossians 4:6 "Let your conversation be always full of grace..."
