These Boots Were Made For Walkin'...

Guess what?!  I got to go for a couple little walks with my husband this week!  It is amazing to just hold hands and stroll.  We couldn't even try to be in a hurry.  But to be able to enjoy what we used to take for granted, well, it makes me beyond thankful.  I don't want to go back to the always-on-the-go lifestyle....

And then this weekend Caleb left to go to Central Oregon with the guys from church to go fishing.  He had a great time.  This is a huge accomplishment in that he was able to get away and do "man stuff."  Plus he had to walk quite a bit from the lodge to the river and also did stairs for the first time in over seven months.  It was a good time for his mind, body, and spirit.

While he was away, other than work, I prepared my thoughts and heart to speak to the women at Hillside this morning.  I shared a little about my story and addressed the topic of God's goodness in our lives, even when life doesn't go as we had hoped for or planned.

But, since this was the first time Caleb and I spent the night apart since we have been married (we went two years without it!), it was kinda hard! I missed him so much! I mean, sure, we talked a couple times a day, but I could not sleep.  So...funny story....I was kinda going in and out of sleep Friday night.  And I knew my friend had just got home from a blind date, so finally at midnight I figured, "Forget sleeping..." and got up, called my friend, got cereal for myself and we did some online investigation of the guy she had just met! haha! It brought me back to my single days!  But lets just say I am thankful and happy to have him home safe and sound...and think I will get a great nights sleep tonight since I will be so exhausted! haha!

And lastly....this is huge!....Caleb is feeling so good, even after a weekend of activity, he started his comeback workout tonight!  He is planning on coming back reeeealllly sllllooooow and not pushing himself at all.  In fact, just like last year, he literally has to start with my 10 lb weights and go up by no more than 5 lbs a week.  But last year when he did this, in a few months he was throwing up over 100 lbs dumbbells each arm and had 17 inch arms! (He is my very own Rambo!) :) This year, he isn't going to get as big.  He knows he needs to stay light for his joints.  He is one of those rare people who literally enjoys working out.  I wish I had that trait. :)

Pretty much, life has calmed down at the Barnes'.  Awe............  For tonight, we are together again, healthy, and thankful people... :)
